4 Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court on Saturday. Two first offenders wero fined five shillings for drunkonness* John Brittain and Albert Leahy wero each fined a similar amount for drunkenness, and 10s and costs for usin_; threatening behaviour in Durham street. ' Richard Wallburton, charged with drunkenness and using obscene language, was remanded till Wednesday. Henry Scrimsh..w was, with that on September 2Gth, at Christchurch, ho did attempt to commit a crime against a girl under the* age of 12 years. Ho was remanded till Wednesday. 1 , . ■ . Jesse O'Bnen was sentenced to six months' | imprisonment for stealing a bicycle valued at £13. Two children, who had been living with a woman of questionable character, were committed to the Chnstohurch Receiving Home.
