OBITUARY.

MR H. J. WASHBOURN. Another of the old colonist*- died yesterday in the person of Mr Henry John Washbriurn, of the Selwyn. Mr Washbourn was born in 1838 in Gloucestershire, and was brought up to farming He arrived in Canterbury with hi* father and family by the Sir George Seymour in 1850, and worked for some time at the farm of his father at Ric* carton. When nineteen years of ogt> ho went to. Selwyn to manage a largo run for his father. Subsequently Mr Waehhourn and his brother, Mr Edward Washbourn, wont into partnership in cattle farming on a large scale. When tho partnership was dissolved, Mr H. J.
