At tho Rangiora Borough School the Dominion Day medals were presented yesterday by Mr C. I. Jennings to 291 of the pupils. Tho cadets wero drawn up under Captain T. M. Ambrose, and the whole school having saluted tho flag with a fanfare from the bugle, Mr Jennirigs explained to the half-dozen _E_ubers of the public present, and the

children, that tho chairman (Mr H. Boyd) had been detained at Oxford, and the Mayor (Mr C. W. Bell) was in Christchurch; He referred to the reasons for changing the name from Colony to Dominion, and the fact that it gavo the country moro importance. The medals were issued by the Premier to commemorate the event. The medals having been distributed, threo cheers were given for the Dominion, and ono more for Sir Joseph Ward.
