CASUALTIES.
« WOMAN BURNED TO DEATH. Last Saturday night a sad fatality occurred at Pleasant Point, when Mrs Medlicott, wife -of Mr F. Medlicott, was burned to death. Mr Medlicott left home (his place is about a mile out of tho Point) after tea on Saturday night and wont to the Point township Mrs Medlicott being left by herself. When Mr Medlicott * returned home about 10 o'clock ho found his wife dead in tho passage of the house. Sho was much disfigured through burning, and hei clothes were ncarlv destroyed by fire. It is, of course, impossible"to say precisely how the accident happened, but a bottle of kerosene was found near the stove in the kitchen, and it is surmised that Mrs. Medlicott,'who had been boilin', milk lor soma lambs, had met with the accident through putting some kerosene on tho fire. An inquest was held yesterday, when a verdict of accidental death through bumine and shock was returned. Dr. Paterson, of Pleasant Point, who was sent for as soon as" Mrs Medlicott was discovered, fell from his bicycle while cycling to tho sceno of the fatality, and broke his right conarbone.
