Tho police pursued, shot, aud captured one of the thieves. ORVILLE WRIGHT'S ACCIDENT. Orville Wright states that the propeller struck a wire belonging to tbe rudder. Both broke, leaving the aeroplane unmanageable. THE CHANNEL SWIM. (Received Soptember 21st. 10.36 p.m.) LONDON, September 21. J. Wolffe made another attempt to swim tho Channel. After being 15 hours in the water and almost across, ho failed from exhaustion, within half a mile of Calais. Oxygen was several times administered. THE LANCASHIRE DISPUTE. Thero aro indications that the stoppage in the Lancashire cotton trade will not be protracted. THE POWERS AND PERSIA. The Shah's reply to tho Anglo-Rus-sian note is unsatisfactory. Ho declines to renew tho Constitution until tho Azerbaijan Province is subdued.
