Mr Gardiner, in making tho presentation, referred to the good work done by them for tho church, and said that Mrs Dixon had been connected with the church all her life, having held the position of organist for a great many years. 'Leadley spoke in high terms of the guests of the evening, stating that he had been a shipmate or Mr and Mrs Dalton on the voyago from England. Messrs Cairns and Prothoroe also referred eulogi3tically to the qualities of the departing guests. Tho toast of th. health of Mr and Mrs Dalton and family was honoured enthusiastically. Mr Dalton senr., and Mr J. R. Dalton acknowledged the compliment. Musical items wero contributed during tho evening, and the proceedings closed with a dance.
