Mr Watson, tho lato leader of the Federal Labour party, on being interviewed, intimated his intention of retiring from politics at tho end of the present Parliament. MURDERED BY COOLIES. PERTH, July 6. A cable has been received announcing that Mr Feasby, a well-known West Australian mining man, who was managing a mine in Indo-China, has hoen murdered by coolies, together with Mr Campbell, his assistant, also an Australian. THE FOUNDERING OF THE BEGA. (Receivod July 7th, 12.22 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 6. Th« recent springing of a leak on the steamer Eden caused a close examination to bo made of tho pier at Eden. The report shows that tho piles aro inclined one in ten from the perpendicular and the facing boards are spiked on below high-water mark. A number of spikes project, and it is believed that these caused tho injury which brought about tho foundering of the Boga and damaged tho Eden. SUICIDE OF A FOOTBALLER. Ccnlon, a well-known footballer, walked into a hairdresser's shop at Darlington, picked up a razor, walked into the street, and cut his throat. Ho died shortly afterwards.
