United Frees Association—By Electiio Telegraph—Copyright. SOCIALISM AND THE CHURCHES. SYDNEY. May 6. The Rev. Macauley Waverley has been elected Moderator of the Pros'byteriaii Assembly. In his address he stated tha* it had to bo realised that Socialism wcs a movement that had come to stay, and that it was a cause to be reckoned with. It was the duty of the Church not to stand aloof, but rather to try and influence this movement and shape its destinies.
