PRETORIA, May 5. The Intercolonial Customs and Railway Conference has opened at Pretoria. Closer union of the colonies
is the leading subject for discussion. (Received May 6th, 11.10 p.m.) PRETORIA, IMay 6. The Conference at Pretoria unanimously accepted the principle of closer union. Recommendations 'hereafter to be submitted to the South African Parliaments include the appointment of delegates to a National Convention for the purpose of framing a draft Constitution.
