Thcro was only a moderate attendance at the Ashburton. etock sale yesterday. The total entry consisted , of 9100 shoep and lambs and 21 head or cattle. In the fat pens 2500 came forward, principally lambs. Ewes and wethers sold well, but lambs were disappointing, and owing to export buyers refusing to give up -to the owners' reserve the bulk were passed at auction. Prices were:—Best ewes, 13s to 14s 6d; medium sorts, 11s dd to 12e 4d; others. 9s 9d to 10s 7d; beet freezers, wethers, ma do lGs 9d to 18s; others. His to 16s 3d; freezing lambs. 14s Gd to 15s 6d; othors, 12e. In tho store pens 6600 sheep and. lambs wcto yarded, but the demand for anything but young ewes was disappointing, and sales wore few. Prices were:—-Six and eight-tooth halfbred ewes, 12s to loe 4d; failing mouth ewes, 6s 3d to 10s; sound mouth ewes, 7s (3d to 10s 3d; old ewes, ■Iβ 7d to 4s 7d; forward lambs (mixed sexes), 10s 9d to 12s; backward sorts, 7s 9d to 9a. The yarding of cattle was poor, and the demand limited. Young stores mado 255; forward heifers and steers, £2 17s ■to £3 ss; fat steers, £4 os; and fat heifers, £4 5e to £S 10s. •
