The disaster to the pearling flee* is more serious than was anrtaoipaAed. The storm ivas sudden and very severe, nand it also did considerable damage ashore. The full extent of the disaster its not yet known, but the latcet news is that two schooners and fifteen luggers h-a.ro 'been either smashed up or sunk. Two ■whites, MeLaebJan and Gflßkin, and about fifty coloured men havo been drowned. Altogether 200 loarts, their crenrs aggregating in all 2000 men, have been affected. Many are still mussing, but may have sheltered along the coast. Arrangements ]iavo boon made to searcii for the survivors.
