THE GLADIATOR DISASTER.
Tho Coroner directed the jury in tho inquest on the victims of the Gladia%>r disaster t.liat no criminal responsibility had been disclosed. A. -verdict of accidental death waa returned.
(Received April 29th, 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 29. Tho Admiralty state that Lieutenant Fletefoor, not Lieutenant Drought, is misting from the Gala. Fifteen destroyers attacked- tiho Attentive and tho Adventure, manoeuvring with masked lights in a very rough soa. Following tho Ettrick'a successful attack on th© Adventure, the Gala, the Ripple and the Teviot, at a speed of 12 knots, attacked the Attentive, which, seeing that a collision was inevitable, turned on a searchlight. Tho Attentive struck, tho Gala on the port side, cutting her completely in two. Tho fore part soon sank and; the stern part floated' away and subsequently sank. The crew were rescued except Lieutenant Fletcher, who is supposed to have been killed while asleep in his cabin. The Attentive, afteT getting clear o c tho Gala, struck the Hippie, knocking a largo f hole in her side, flooding twe compartments.
