At tho Raimiora Court yesterday, Mr V. G. Day, S.M., and Mr T. Kcdr, J. P., were on ths lJendi.
_ Jlary Linden and Agnes Linden (Mr Van Asch) pleaded guilty to entering the houso of Jane Mcßride' and taking sheets, pillow- slips and tablecloths, ot the value of -13s. Sergeant Mackay said that Mrs McJJride on the Bth inst. wvnt away, leaving hor house locked. On tho l()th inst. when she xeturnod she reported that it had been entered, and ho niado a search and found-some of the articles. Mr Van Asch applied for leniency. Ho said the theft was done- in an unconscious way and in daylight. Tho defendants were fin-ed 10s each with coste 16s, mid were ordered to pay for the articles 435. J. -Mia/hiar (Mr Van Asch) claimed from F. Efra.ii (Mr Cassidy) £12 16s 2d in coniiection with a tenancy of the lied Lion Hotel. There was a counter ciiaim of £63 4s 4d. The pllarimtiff souphtt to recover £2 paid for beer, £2 10s for carpenters', board, and £8 63 2d for painting and papering. The counter claim was for amounts a-lPeged to be wrongly deducted from renite, £14 18s sd, cost of papering and painting uncompleted parts of the hotel £74; tota-1 £88 18s sd, Jess sevemteem montihs , unexhaTisted value of papering and painitimg, and carpenters' board, total £25 14a Id. It was statJedi ■that althongh there was no lease, t3ie parole agreement was on the basis of a five years' lease. Mr Day. S.M., said this would probably take tho oase out of his jurisdiction, but he would reserve the poinit and his decision. ,
