(press association telegram.) ELTHAM, April 2S. There was a large number of rere-ite for the Provincial Conference of tflbo Farmery.Union. The Executive urges, tho importation of efficient labour, iMurorsoi military training, an increase ■in the naval contribution, and protests against preference, to Unionists. The Hawera branch urges upon the Colcnial Conference the need of extreme vigilamoo "against ■tihei tib© Fair' Reiiit En:!!, and any alteration in Icca4 ibedies , franchise. The Eltham branch suggests that as the Farmers' Uttiion. is not unanimous- enough to take a etrong political attitude, an energetic effort should be made to enlist the sympathies and interest of aFI farmers'-.by a system of lectures and talks on up-to-date farm topics.
