Lady Diffidence continued in front pa-ssing Oxtnham's and along- the far side, whore Jack Smith ran into second place, followed, by Maranui, Duko of Clarence, Electron, and Togo, Bright Steel bringing up tho Tear. Excepting that Duke of Clarence had displaced Jack Smith in second place the order was still tho same at the cix furlongs, where Dyed Garments begun to improve his position. Lady Diffidence was still in charge at the half mile post from Maranui, Absentee, Electron, Goby, Maltine, und Duke of CkiTenco. Maranui was first into the straight, but Dyed Garments took charge at the distance, and going on won by six lengths; two lengths separating second and third. Then followed Maranui, Goby, Truo Light. Lady Diffidence, King's Cross, Rouvray, and Togo, with Bright Stee-l last. Time, 3min 34 sec. FIRST STEEPLECHASE, a handicap sweepstako of 6 soys each, with 300 9ovs added.
