AMENDED REGULATIONS.

WELLINGTON, April 17. Amendments to tho volunteer regulations _ applying to garrison and battalion bands are gazetted. To qualify for capitation, bandsmen must have served six months and be efficient musicians, and must attend eighteen parades during the year, at which at least one-half of the strength must be present. Six of these parades must be devoted wholly to ambulance duties, and three must be daylight parades. Two-thirds of the strength must be present on at least four parades during the year. Each man must also earn a certificate pn being examined practically by a Board consisting of the principal medical officer of the district, and two other medical officers to bo appointed by him in th© drills, etc., laid down in the manual for the Army and Medical Corps in use in the Imperial service for- the time being. Garrison and battalion bandsmen shall not- he required to undergo, a course of class-firing. In addition to capitation allowance, an . annual grant of £25 ebu.ll be made to the garrison bands at Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch, and Dunedin, and also to all other duly approved bands.
