ALBION v. PONEKE.

Tho first match between teams representing the above Clubs *« Played at Lancaster Park, on Saturday, •when the weather was fine., though dull, and there was a fair attendance. The oval was quickly back in, the Reds' twenty-five, and from some loose nlay on the line Weston gained a try, Stevens's kiok at goal again proving futile. It was resolved to hold a pound social in aid of the funds on Friday evening, April 24th. and to open the season on the following day with a match againdt Spotewood in the McKenzie Domain. The question of affiliation with tho North Canterbury centre -was held over until a later meetiiifg. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr Pulley, who had placed the woolshed naddock at the disposal of the club for practice. It was decided that the General Committee meet on the first Saturday in each -month for the tnaneaction of club business. At the close of the meeting twenty -eight members joined the club. On Saturday afternoon a team from Timaru played against Rangiora on the Recreation Ground. The game was a Good open one, and after a hard and cvenlv-conte-ted game Timaru won by 3 points to nil, a penalty goal kicked *by Rain.

'Marist Bros. Old Boys defeated Timaru Old Boys by 6 points to nil, at Haglev Park, after a hard and fast gam©. L. Edmonds and A. Fanning scored for the -winners.
