CHARGE AGAINST A JOCKEY.
(MUM ASSOCIATION TELEOIAM.) WELLINGTON, October 12. Edward Murtagh, a jockey, wae charged at the Court to-day with wounding en infant named Tui Leigh with intent to do grievous bodily harm The fecte alleged ere that the ncctiGod lived in the same boardinghouet< as the baby ord it* mother. Yesterday the mother and Murtagh had word*, during which accused is alleged to have cut the child's thigh with a nwor. The wound is serious, and the child is not yet put of danger. The prisoner was remanded until the 16th, bail being fixed in himself for £100 and two sureties of £50 each. '
