HOSPITAL LADY VISITORS' ASSOCIATION.

1 The annual meeting of th© Hospital Lady Visitora' Association was held yesterday afternoon. Present—Mestlames Julius, President (in the chair), Mollett, Guise, Selig, Elworthy, W-ilker, Secretan, Misses Stevens, Walker, Greseon, G. Tripp, the matron, end Tripp (hon. secretary and treasurer, and Turner (assistant secretary). The annual report showed that during the year—October Ist, 1906, to September 30th, 1907—125 patients had been &i»isted at en expenditure of £2-19 15s 3d. Ninety-three were cent to the Rhodes Convalescent Home for varying periods, end a number of others had been assisted in various ways. Thanke to the Marks Trust, and to the handsome balance from last year, the committee was able to give tubetantial help in some half-dozen very distressing' ceees. Owing to the nnueual amount of illness, the attendance at the Work Party ire* rather irregular, but a good number of garments were made. The sewing machine given by Mrs Hamilton had been put in order, and was particularly useful. Mrs Giiise and Miss Stevens had been, indefatigable, and the satisfactory number of finished garments was mainly d"ue to them. The Peacock Trust of £500, at the desire of the committee, had been placed; in the bands of the Public Trustee for a period of not less than ten years, at current rate of interest. Messrs Joynt and Anlrewe had kindly executed all the legal business connected with the bequest, free of charge. The weekly concerts had been kept up during the year, and were an unfailing delight to the patients. The committee would greatly appreciate the services of any ladies who would offer themselves as ward -visitors. Tb* committee desired to express its obligations, to the doctor and the matrott for their kindness and courtesy. The balance-sheet was as follows : — Receipts, £408 0s 8d (balance from 1900 £165 Be, Marks Trust £200); expenditure, £249 15s 3d (Rhode* Convalescent Home £160 13s), leaving a credit balance of £158 5s sd.
