AUSTRALIA AND THE M.C.C. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, September 5. Mr F. G. Lacey, secretary of the Marylebono Cricket Club, states that the Marylebone Club has neither asked nor sounded anybody relative to sonding a team to Australia. Owing to an influential Australian request the M.C.C. is willing to reconsider its decision. The President has summoned a special meeting of the committee far Friday. Mr Lacey adds:—"Tho Club's attitude is apparently unchanged. The prospects of its sending a team this year are no brighter." It is reported that Jackson, who is being strongly pressed, will take out a team. Several prominent players have been sounded, and it is reported that Hayward is willing to. go. SYDNEY, September 5. The special meeting of the Marylebone Club is due to a request by the Premier, made through Lord Jere?y. The annual meeting of the Malvern Cricket Aesoioiation was held at Darfleld last Saturday. The election of officers resulted aa {follows:—'Patron, Mr C. A. C. Hardy, M.H.R.; president, Mr C. Lewis, M.H.R.; vice-presidents, Messrs G. Rutherford, C. Hammond, F J. Saville, J. Deans, H. A- Knight, R. N. Bealey, and Captain Woodcock; secretary and treasurer, Mr G. Shipley. A round of matches was drawn up, including the following teams:—Glentunnel, Greendale, Kirwee, Waddington, and Kiimberloy.
