Our Tiniaru correspondfiint writes: — Business on tho looal grain and produce markets is so dull juet now that onJy nominal quotations can be given. There is no over-sea demand, and eveni coastal orders have considerably eased off. There is etill a good deal of grain for eale, but sellers' ajid buyers' ideas of values are so different tkat no buemeee is being dome-- Farmers are .asking a penny, and in some cases twopance, "per bushel more than buyers are propai«d to give. Tuscan ie saleable at 3e 4Jd» velvet at 3s 4d ; and Tedehaff at 3a 3Jd, dc-livoTed in Timaru. The local mills are fairly well stocked juet raw, and consequently ea.n afford to lrold out. In oate the business still oomtinuee to be done outside of Tiniaru, and values remain at 2s 5Jd for A grado Gartons, 2s 4id*f«T B grade, 2s 5d to 2s 6d for Duas, and 2s 3d to 2s 4d fx»r Danish. Potatoes are still fetching high prices, £9 10s, and up to £11 l>eing paid for them.

At the Asnburton produce' sales on Saturday, potatoes brought from lGs up to 25s per bag, and seed potatoes'from lid to 2Jd per lb; wheat, lls-to 12s 6d per sack; onions, Id per lb. Poultry realised from 2s up to oe per pair. Pigs—Btoree Bs, 10s, to 15s 6d; porkers 17s to 22e, 235, and up to 40u.
