The We.-tport Coal Company's __ steamer Cunopus arrived n't 3.30 a.m. on Saturday, with a cargo-of coal from Weetport. The vessel will tail again this evening ior Westport to load another cargo for Lyttolton.

The Hem der line steamer Draytou Uruiifre, from Liverpool, via Los Palmas, Adola.de, Melbourne, £>y(it;ey, Auckland, iuid \\ eiuugtou, arrived on Sutuiday morning, and berthed at No. 6 wharf, to discharge about iW tons ot cargo. Tne vessel ie expected to sail either to-night or to-morrow for Dunedin, where ahe will discharge the balance of her cargo, alter which vha proceeds to the Bluff. The Draytou Grange, which is to load at New Zoiiiiihd porta lor the United Kingdom, wiil return to Lyttelton later on to take in cargo. Information as to the bookings by the now direct eervico to London, which has been opened by the Federai-lloulder Shire steamers, is to hand. As regards saloon passengers, the Dorset, which leaves Wellington tomorrow, is taking 13 from Wellington, one from Lyttelton, five from Wanganui, three from Dunedin, and four from Auckland, as well as 47 third-class passencors from all ports. Mr R. Gibb, junr., is tne only saloon passenger booked from Lyttelton, while there are four third-claso passengers.

The Blackball steamer Petone arrived on Saturday aftornoon with a cargo of coal from Greymouth. She will finish discharging to-morrow afternoon, when ehe sails for Greymouth. ■

The uteamer Pareora, of the Blackball line, is due here to-night or to-morrow. The auxiliary-screw schooner Huia left the Kaipara on Saturday with a full cargo of timber for LyttcJton.

During the time the Delphic was on the New Zealand coast, strenuous efforts were put forth to get the vessel filled up with cargo as quickly a.» possible. This holds true in regard to all visiting steamers to a certain extent, but in the case of the Dolphic, her agents were most anxious to get her on their hands as quickly as possible, in order that she might get ilonic in time to land her cargo of wool to catch the July sales. There is every prospect that the desired objoct will be attained as the vessel left Wellington for London on Friday morning, and should therefore arrive in London on July 2nd. As the sales begin on July 10th, the voßsel will have about sir full .daye to get clear of her wool cargo.

The Now Zealand Shipping Company's stenmer Tongariro was duo at Port Chalmers yesterday morning from the Bluff, and will probably Bail again to-day for Timaru and Lyttelton. The vessel leaves Wellington for London on Juno 7th.

Advice has been received that the barqne Waiiti (late the Norwegian barque Signe), which was recently purchased by Messrs A. 11. Turnbull and Co., of Christchurch. for the intercolonial trade, loft Capetown on Thursday last, for Editliburp, where she will load a cargo of salt for Lyttelton. The vessel is expected to reach Lyttelton about the end of July.

The Union Company's steamer Puknki, with a cargo of coal from Westport, is due here early this morning.

The Shaw. Snvill liner lonic, after loading a large quantity of frozen ment cargo, sailed at 10 o'clock on Saturday night for Wellington, whence she will sail* finally for London on Thursday next.

The Canterbury Steamship Company's steamer Ripple brings a cargo of slcopcra from Akitio. Sho is exjpocted to sail tonight for Timaru to lond for Wanganui. Thence she returns to LytteJton, then to Timaru, and back to Wanganui. She will return from Wanganui to Lyttelton in time to leave this port on June 2nd for the Chatham Islands.

The schooner Lily with a cargo of timber from Kaipara. arrived yosterday morning, and anchored in the stream at 10 a.m. She was afterwards berthed at the Gladstone pier. Tho Lily left Kaipara at 2 p.m. on Tueeday last, and, favoured by fino weather and fair wind 3, mnde tho passage in five days. An exceptionally fast run of 23 hours 15 minutes was recently made from Melbourne to Sydney by H.M.S. Challenger. The warship is at present undergoing an overhaul nt Sydney.

The Union Company's steamer Whangape from Aewcnstle, via Picton. Wellington, and .Napier, is due here this morning.
