SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
ADDINGTON. Tlie regular monthly meeting of tho Addington School Committee was held on Wednesday evening. Present— Messrs J. Spillor (chairman), Barry, Burns, Clarke, Down, Dal ley, Gourlay nnd Manhire. The headmaster reported number oil roll o~)\, higher-1 attendance 529.' Owing to the illness of .Vliiw Seay, Miss Ormnjidy had been appointed ns acting pupil teacher. Mr \V. W. Garton tendered his resignation ac assistant master, and the Board had advertised for applicants to fill thevacancy. Permission war* given to Mr Bligli to give a lecture on behalf of tho Wliito Cross League io tho upper standards. Tho annual class attendance picnic to Lyttolton, on March 17th, was veiy successful. It was decided to close th-o (school for a week. Tho Board forwarded the books and accounts, duly audited, also March (juarter incidentals for £4.3 IGs (>d. Tlie report to he prosentod «t the annual meeting of householders on Monday evening next was read*and approved. Accounts amounting to £4 IGs Gd were passed for payment.
