HOCKEY.
At a meeting of the Executive of the Canterbury Hockey Association (Mr H. W. S. Hellyer in the chair) the application of tlie Pioneer Club for a change of colours was not granted,. as the colours suggested were not considered sufficiently distinctive- it was decided that entries for all competitions should close on the loth in-t., and to institute a Third Grade Competition, for Thursday players, should sufficient inducement offer. Mcavrs H*Wyer, Congreve, and Barritt were elected a Permit Committee. Messrs Ford, Rankin, and Schmidt were elected a Referees' Appointment Committee. The competitions will commence on the 26th and 28th insts., for Thursday and Saturday players respectively.
