NEW ZEALAND GUN CLUB.

The annual meeting of the New Zealand Gun Club Association was held last night, Mr D. Fraser presiding. The annual report staled that tho Committee regretted to say that thero appeared to be a growing lack of interest in pigeon shooting, as compared with previous years. The falling off of revenue from club subscriptions was £10—received from twenty clubs, as ngaiivt twenty-eight last year, and several big clubs would not attempt to hold their usual annual fixtures owing to lack of support fioni shooter?. For the tame reason three advertised fixture* were ahandomd. Whether it was that, the younger shots wero not replacing those who drop cut, or that the same feeling that cause<l tho Hurlingham Club to clote down, was aLso affecting colonial phots, the committee wore at a los to say. During the year the question was brought up by a southern club as to whether it. would not bo better to split the Association into two, forming a North and South Island Association. The matter was informally discussed at Christchurch. and whs left over for discussion at the annual mating. The Committee was of opinion that it would be against the best interests of tho Association to split, and suggested that the meeting should thoroughly go into the matter before coming to a decision. It would bo the duty of the meeting io elect a secretary for the coming year, in place of the present secretary (Mr Yon Stunner), who was resigning because he could nob spare the time to attend to the duties. Tlio amount in hand at present was £12 12s 7d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted a.s follows:—President, Mr T. M. Wilford, M.H.R. (Wellington); Vice-Presidents, Messrs 0. Rutherford (Canterbury). «nd C. H. Chavannes (Wanganui); Committee. Messrs T. A., Double (Invercargill), J. H. Redwood (Marlborough), S. R.
