CHRISTCHURCH v WELLINGTON.
(si'ECIAI. TO "THE PRESS.") WELLINGTON. April 14. This annual xniucb was played on the Athleitic Park this afternoon in excellent neat hex. ChrisrUshurch played two substitutes, one being Giiitespie, a representative player. In the first spell Wellington had much the better of the game, and narrowly missed scoring on several occasions. The Christchurch team's rushes ivcre not well sustained. The fin=>t spell ended without any eoore. Early in the second half Mcßeth (fiveeighths) got over for Wellington from a scramble., but Wilson failed to convert the try. Chrirtchurch then livened up, ami made same excellent forward rush?*, but nothing came of -tiiem. Towards tihe end of the game Hume scored another try for Wellington, but the attempt at goal was again » failure. Time was called with tho score—Wellington 6 points. Christchurch nil. Early in the game Miller (Ohrwtchuroh) fell on his wrist and injured it severely. It is feared it is broken. CliwtcSjurch played fourteen men almost tluo whole time.
