TRAM SERVICE TO THE RACECOURSE.

The Canterbury Jockey Club have • special notice to intending visitors to tbo races on Easter Monday. Owin>g to a shortago of oars, it is stated, the tramway can only despatch trams by the ordinary timetable, and therefore the number of passengers to be carried will he limited. Trains will, however, .■aive the railway station about overy quarter of an hour after 10.50 to 11.30 a.m., and supplementary trains at 12.15 and 1.15 p.m. It is understood that onlytweivo tram cars, with a total carrying capacity of about 900 will be avaLablo botween the hours of 10.30 and noon. At present the tramway wrrvico has no convenience for landing passengers on tho racecourse, who must walk upwards of a quarter of a mile to the rtard.v whereas th© railway passengers are landed rigW en the course and oniy a few yards from the stand entrances.
