When the final vote on the third reading of stations was about to be taken, a telegram was read announcing the sudden death of the Rev. G. Hounsell, of Gisborne. A vote of sympathy with Mrs Hounsell was immediately carried. Several ministers spoke of the eeteem in which the deceased minister had been heUi, and oP hk faithfulnss and efficiency in the Christian ministry. The late Mr Hounsell began his ministry in Sydney in 1379. in connection with't no United Methodist Free Church. He came to New Zealand in 1892 us minister of the Addington Church. Since then he has laboured at Oxford, Milton. Wocdvilie. and Gisborne.

The voting for chairmen of districts rasulted in the following being elected: —Auckland. Rev. G. Bond; Wanganui. the President of the . Conference; Wellington. Roy. P.' W. Fairclough; XclRev. 0. H. Garland; Canterbury, Rev. W*. Lee; Otago, Rev. C. H. Laws.

At the closo of the afternoon session the Rev. A. Mitchell (Invercargill). in tlie name of the Otago members of tho Conference, presented an address tn thp. Rev. T. G. Brooke, president of tho Conference, expressing high appreciation of his cervices in Otago during the past nine years.
