— m* — ANNUAL SHOW. , (rRE9S ASSOCIATION TIXKGRAM.) NEW PLYMOUTH, November 29. The Taranaki Agricultural Show opened to-day, the wet weather interfering with the attendance. The entries in all the classes were good, and the quality of the exhibits showed a distinct advance on tho previous year's. Cat Mo and horses were excellent classes, and the sheep and pigs were also meritorious. Winks's estate secured several prizes for Shorthorns, including tho championship for bull and cow. The feature of the show was the utility class of cows, which was exceptionally good. In thoroughbred horses C. Gill secured the stallion championship with Uhlan, that for mare with foal falling to J. George's Duras. Tlie dairy produce entries consisted mostly of butter. Tho Maketawa factory won the Lovell and Christman trophy, and the Hillsboro factory the Society's trophy. The Cardiff factory was the only exhibitor in cheese.
