. a A miraculous escape from death occurred at Sumner yesterday. Miss Eva Watt, of Christohurch, was descending the hill at the far end of the beach,, when she missed her footing and fell over a' cliff some sixty feet in height. Fortunately ' she fell on some soft clay at the bottom, which broke the force of her fall. Constable Hampton and some members- of the Sumner Ambulance class removed Miss Watt to a private house, and Dr. Shone was called in.
