ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.

(SPECIAL TO THE "PSESS.") AUCKLAND. October 29. The weather was fine for training operation! tbia morning, and moat of the work vu done on the course proper outside the trestles. "W'oodfield and Sir Hector ran six furlongs in lmin 26aec, and the latter finished in front. Gladstone and Andy Regan spurted four furlongs in 56J(w?c; the Tatter wae beaten off. Lady Annie, moving well, covered five furlougs in liuiu Bsec. Baltimore was too good for iitromncss over six fuilongs, which- were run in lmin 27eec. Girton Gul did a similar journey, and ran the last five furlongs in lmin lOeec. Avalanche galloped well whilst doing a mile in lmin S7sec. Dunrnoro and The Middy got over four furlongs in '54»ec. Newton and Lady Hune, from a standing start, ran a mile and a quarter in 2min 37isec. finishing together. Rambler, assisted by Grouchy and Darkness, covered a mile in lmin 63$eec. The Guinea* candidate finished much better than on Thursday. King Paul ran six furlongs in lmin 23*ec. and Woodmount went five furlongs, the last four of which took him 59sec. Lycia spurted four furlongs in 58»cc. Yolette easily held Noteorine at the end of seven furlongs in lmin BSsec. Bother sprinted four'furlongs, the last two ia 26iseo. Bonomonia ran a mile in lmin 58eec. Idas was too good lor Putty over a mile and a quarter, which was run in 2min 23j«ec. Lady Bobs sprinted five furlongs in lmin lllsec. Golden Sand did a similar task in lmin 9 4-sth sec, Ben Blair going with hex during the last four furlongs.

Hoboro had {Mechanic as » companion over the same journey, which was run in lmin 24sec. Hinetauxa went a. mile, the last seven furlongs in lmin 3i)scc. Sarvius ran six furlongs in lmin 25 3-sth eec, WaiUti going the list five furlongs with him, end finishing in front. Nonioola was too good for I/ulia. over a mile, which was traversed in lmin 57sec. I Lovelink, assisted by Simple Simon, did the aunt journey in lmin 6osec. Manoeuvre badly teat' Soultfish over coven furlonge. in lmin 37s«c; the pony is well. Albuera I covered five furlongs in lmin 9sec, and CuirI agno seven in lmin 401s€c. Air Gun and Sir Oilead did seven furlonge in lmin 41eeo. Annoyed went a mile pleasingly in lmin 53sec 2-5 th sec. Mutheroa epurted four furlonge in 63i«ec on the tan. and Delama, compaeeed six furlongs in lmin 22sec. The Needle and; Hinekoa- went once round tho eime track in 2min 3sec. After breakfast, Idasa ran five fuTlongs in lmin Oseo, end Jewellery six in lmin 23Js*c. Freemmint galloped a mile in lmin 59sec, Inspiration joining in for the last five furlongs. To Aroha. beat Carl Rosa over four furlonge in 53Jsec, and Geologist ran six furlongs in lmin 23Jeec. Vivandero and Anrette spurted four iurlonge in 66Jsec. Green end! Gold did the same journey in 54sec. Sally Homer ran seven furlongs in lmin 40;eo on the tan, and AVaikato a. similar distance in lmin 35sec, Auaterlitz fetching him home over the last Jive furlongs. Jdaroon end Gold, Hakaria, Peter Simple, and Lavade jumped tho small hurdles, shaping well. Lurcher, Matatutua, and Alozort jumped the big hurdles proficiently. Mangamahaki, Tip, and Wiid Rose went round the- steeplechase course over the Jiill, jumping well. Maop jumped the big fences in the centre of the course. A number of others were out. General Average has been an absentee since Tvcßoay. Hinetaura. and Whakaweha arrived froni Napier on Thursday. The hurdles were up on the outside of the courso proper this aiternoon, and some interesting, schooling work was witnessed!. Wellcast. Piinceee of Thule,, and Andy Regan ran a mile and & half over the battens in 3min 13sec. Wellcast finished ten lengths in front of Princess of Thirle, Andy Regan falling tit the last fence-. With the exception of a faulty jump at the last obstacle Wellcast gave a good display, and may turn out useful over tho small sticks. Irish and Hinau went * similar journey in 3min 12eec, Irish easily defeating hia companion. Up-to-Date, Peter Simple, and Ngarua were cent a round of the steeplechase country, going over the hill. The trio all jumped faultlessly. UptoDato finished the strongest, and is likely to run well in the steeplechases at the forthcoming meeting.
