TO THE EDJTOR Ol" THE PRESS. y, Sir,—Would you kindly explain the, following anomaly in our postage rates .•'.— Last Tuesday, being desirous of sending a " Weekly Press" Home, I was informed that the postage by. the- San Francisco mail would be 5d (fivepence), but by the Delphic sailing the same day only Id. Now, Sir, can you explain thia conundrum and oblige, yours,'.'etc, ■'■'■'' , PERPLEXED (The difference is accounted for by the fact that papers despatched via, San Fran-, cisco are charged according to weight, whilst those sent by the direct route go for a penny.—Ed.
