MR DEAKIN INTERVIEWED.
THE CHANCES OF COALITION. Mr Deak'in informed an interviewer that he considered a coalition of some kind essential. The attitude of his party would depend upon the constitution and the pol ic y of Mr Watson's Government. A kind of coalition was likely to be brought about if Mr Watson's programme were of one particular nature. The coalition might be immediate. If not, it might take some time to elaborate. His party, however, would keep the doors open.
