LYTTELTON CASUAL WHARELABOURERS UNION.

; to THIS EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, —Your correspondent, "Fair OPlay," of to-day's issue, complains of the injustice done him l>7 not being elected a member of the so-called'society. If "Fair Play" will eign hie name, and let tts know who ■Wβ are dealing with, and also convince the committee and members of above Union that he is willing and able U> earn the average rate of wages paid us (leaving In abeyance the various amounts per week which he mentions), I am sure his application would find favour, not only -with the members of the Union, but also with the Department, who hitherto have not complained of the "sailors, firemen, and foreigners of all nations" who have been elected by the Union, to do the work of the Department in, Lyttelton. ; 'Tair Play" prates about onr methods lof working and British fair play. We would be sorry indeed to do an injustice to anyone, and if "Fair Play's" application for membership is in our hands, we ' sincerely regret, for his own sake (being,' as be says, a> lifelong resident in Lyttelton), that his previous career does not seem to offer any feature of recommendation to the workere of the.Bailway Union.—Yours, etc., «*•* W. DAMEL, . President. ; Lyttelton, April 18th.
