THE LATE HON. W. C. WALKER
Tho Ashburton Hospital Committee, at its meeting yesterday morning, earned the following resolution on. the initiative ot the chairman (Mr Hugo Friodluodei) : — "That the committee place on record tne valuable services rendered to the Ashburton Hospital Board by the late Hon. W. C Walker, and expresses its einoere condolence with Uw Walker and. family in their bereavement." Mr Friedlander epoKe in, feelingly -appreciative terms of the late hon. gentleman's services to the Board, his remarks being sympathetically received, Mr J. Studholme supporting them, and expressing ivgreE" that Mr Walker's death should have occurred so soon aftvr his appointment as Speaker of the Legislative Council, u.s it would be- very hard to re-| place him.
