The mayoral election for the Dunedin reeult«d as follows: —Messrs T. Scot* 2870, Maitland 6'ci, a majority of 1998. For the South and Bell Wara the old councillors were re-elected. Cr. Muir waa rejected for High Ward, and! Mr McDonald, one of the retiring members for the Leith Ward, only secured third place, Mr Barnes, a new man, being second. There wae a keen contest for Mornington, Mr Aunand, an ex-Mayor, defeating Mr W. Gow, the retiring Mayor, by 104 votes. , ,■'■ \ For South Duoedin Mr Chetwin, tae xe> tiring Mayor, was re-elected.
