AMALGAMATION PROPOSALS ABANDONED. United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. HOBART, April 27. The negotiations for the amalgamation of tho Mount Lyell and North Mount Lyell mines have been abandoned. (Received April 27th, 11.26 p.m.) LONDON, April _/. The North Mount Lyell directors proposed to alter materially the amalgamation scheme, provisionally upon the approval. The Mount Lyell directors thereupon declared the negotiations ended. Hopes are still entertained that a satisfactory settlement is possible.
