RUGBY UNION CONTESTS.
The. Canterbury Rugby Union has received eight entries for tho Senior Championship, six for the Junior Flag, and fifteen for the President's Cup. The. two new senior teamn are Lylte-lton and Canterbury College, and as a result thc*o clubs are unrepresented in tho Junior competition, from which N'tu Ahtiriri have also withdrawn. Laeb year there were sixteen President's Cup teams. The High School have entered only one team this season in place of two. Tho following is the draw for the firstround of Senior matches:—April 25—Sydenham v Mcrivale, Old Boy« v Canterbury College, Ohristchurch v Linwood, Lyttelton v Albion. May 2—Sydenham v" Linwood, Merivale. v Christ church, Albion v Canterbury Colleg*, Lyttelton v Old Boys. May 9—Linwood v Old Boys, Sydenham v Ohristchurch, Merival® v Albion, Lyttelton v Canterbury College. May enham v Lyttelton. Merivale v Linwood, Christehurch v Canterbury College, Albion v Old Boys. May 25—Sydenham v Albion, Linwood v Canterbury College, Christchuroh v Old Boys, Merivale v Lvttelton. May 30—Merivale v Canterbury College. Linwood v Albion, Christchurc'h v Lyttelton, Sydenham v Old Boys. June 6—Sydenham v Canterbury College, Linwood v Lyttelton, Ohristchurch v Albion, Merivale v Old Boys. The matches against Lyttelton on April 25th, May 9th: and 23rd are to be played at Lyttelton. I
