The Board of Governors of Canterbury College meets on tho 27th inst.
Colonel Bell, formerly United States •Consul at Sydney,- k now on a '..taring •tour through the colony, and will deliver two lectures in this city on Tuesday and Wednesday. 28th and 29th inst., at the Choral Hall.
A notification in connection with cU'tma against Mr G. B. Parker or Mr Alex. as receiver for the Midland Rail, way Company, appears elsewhere. The annual meeting of the Christchurch Beautifying Association will be held tonight at the City Council Chambers.
A special meeting of the Bakers' and Pastrycooks' Union will be held to-day at--3 p.m.
At a meeting of the commit tee of th. Canterbury Kilwinning Lodge Room Restoration Fund, on Saturday evening, the seoretary reported that all arrangement* for Thursday's concert 'were, complete. It wae decided to issue- a special circular to the Ghrist-hurch brethren calling on each of .hem to appear at the concert ft. tlie regalia which his rank entitles him- to wear.
