DARFIELD.
The monthly sale was held at Darrleid •on Friday, an entry of 6350 sheep and lambs coming to hand, 2000 being fats, about half of which wei. lambs, chiefly good quality, a few pens being extra good. The few wethers penned were all of good freezing quality. The entry of stores was composed principally of ewes, with a few pens of lambs and crossbred wethers, and with n few exceptions were North Island and dealers' line., which were in backward condition. There was a full attendance of fanners and dealers, and competition woe keen for all fats. In stores, good forward wethers 'iiad most attention, and sold well, but for backward sorts, though sales were were made, prices were low. The following are the prices: —Freezing wethers 17s 7d to 18s Id, maiden ewes 16_ 6d to 18s Id, merino wethers 15-s 7d, tegs 14s 8d to los 3d, freezing -annua (best) 13s 6d to 14s 6d t lighter kinds 12s 4d to 15s, fat crossbred ewes (best) low 4d to 14s 2d, in-
ferior 7s 6d to lis 9d, fat merino e«w 6s 9d "to 9s id, rn-pj lambs 9s to 10s 3d store do 5s 7d to 7s 4d, two-tooth halfbred wethers (forward) 13s 5d to 14s 9d, low condition do. 10s- 9d, two and four-tooth crossbred wethera (forward) 13s lld to 14s sd, two-tooth crossftrred mixed sexes 10s 2d, two-tooth cross-bred ewes 13s sd, two and four-tooth do. Us fxl, mixed age* 9s 9d to Us lOd, aged 6s Id to 9e, sound mouth merino ewes 9a 3d, aged 2s 9d. The most noticeable sales were:—For Mr Jaa. Kudd, 101 maiden ewes 18s Id; Mr A. Nelson, 35 freezing wethers

Hannawb, 83 freezing lambs 14s 6d; Mr H. F. Candy. 57 at 14s sd; Messrs C. Deal and Son, <j0 at 14s 3d; Mr A. Nekon, 58 at 133 6d; Mount Torlesse Station, 440 sound mouth merino ewes 9s 3d.
