CASUALTIES.

An inquest was held yesterday before ■Mr R> Beetham, coroner, into the death of Mrs ?. Rogers, who died suddenly on Sunday. A verdict of death from heart disease was returned. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) NAPIER, March 30. An elderly man named Charles Elsmore Noble, aged seventy-four, an inmate of the Refuge, who got leave on Saturday to go to Awatoto, was picked up on the road, having been seen to fall down. As he appeared to be suffering considerably he was taken to the hospital, where he died. An inquest was held thus evening, and a verdict of death from natural causes returned; the medical evidence showing that death had been caueed by a clot on the brain. AUCKLAND, March 30. Alfred Joseph Marter, aged fifteen, the son of Mr F. W. Marter, was accompanying a baker on his round, when he was thrown off the-cart through 'the wheel going into a rat. The wheel went over the boy's head, and he died on his way to the hospital. WHANGAREI, March 30. ; A sad boating accident happened at Whangarei Heads, resulting in three persons, Colin Urquluwt, of Whangarei Heads; J. Buxton, a Californian, and G. Inkster, of Auckland, being drowned. Two other occupants, J Urquhart, junr., and J. Burke, were rescued. The bodies of those drowned have not been recovered.
