CITY COUNCIL.

The City Council met last evening. Present—The Mayor (Mr H. F. Wigram), and Crs. J. Clarke, H. H. Loughnau, HWood, R- M. Macdouald, J. M. Taylor, G. Sinupsun, H. B. „orensen, W. E. Samuels, G. Payling, J. T. Smith, C. D. Morris. The Treasurer's report was received and adopted, showing receipts since last meeting £350 6_ 3d. The debtor balance at tlsuto was £5211 14s Id, including £1356 6s 5d accounts presented for pay men t.

Tho Mayor stated that he thought it due to the Council to say that the matter of Greater Clia'istohurch had not been lest sight of. He was prepared to go to Wellington if necessary, but lie understood that everything was in order, and it was not necessary for him to visit Wellington at present.
