CANTERBURY RUGBY UNION
The Committee of the Cnnterburv Ruc_bj Union met a. the Clarendon Hotel yesterday afternoon. Present—Messrs* G. H. Mason (in the chair), S. Orchard, 6. Scott, P. E. Asquith, E. T. Harper, F. R. Evans, and W. G. Garrard (hon. sec.) Tlie Lyttelton Club wrote asking for the removal of H. Rich's disqualification, from June 14th, 1902. This player was ordered oS the field in the course of tho Albion v Lyttelton match for tackling a man after the whistle" had blown. The Club's Committee felt certain that Rich did not hear the whistle, and they wanted his services for the northern tour. The letter was received. It was decided, in reply to a request from Timaru, to eend a team to play South Canterbury there on Coronation Day (Thursday, June 26th). The secretary was instructed to inform tbe South Canterbury Union that ' the team would leave Chri-tchurch on the Wednesday afternoon. The following dates were approved for the northern tour;:— Leave Christchurch on Thursday, July 24th, play Wellington July 26th, H»wke_ Bay July _9th and August 2nd, Taranaki August 6fth, Wairorapa August 9th, Nelson August 11th. A motion by Mr P. E. Asqui-b, to ask Taranaki for _.15, Wairorapa for £10, and Nelson for 810, to defray expenses, was lost. Accounts were passed for payment to the amount of _J7l7a Tbe following ore the grounds and re. ferees for Saturday's matohes': —Old Boys' v Linwood, Mr J. T. Weston; CS_-Stcku___ v Merivale. Mr R. W. Barry; Albion v Sydenham, Mr A. P. Hobbs (at Lanoasbeir I? 1 -- '' kj-tterton v Sydenham (at Lyttelton), Mr C. W. Garrard; Merivale v Cteistohurch (at North Pork), Mr C. Hervev* Albion v. N'tu Ahurixi (at Kaiapoi), "Mr D. McGregor; Canterbury College v Richmond (at Richmond), Mr D. _l_Rae_ Christchurch v Merivale A (at North Park), Mr J. Meriimah; Merivale B v Canterbury - College (at North Pork), Mr T. E. Soxton; Lyttdtan v Linwood (at North Park,) Mr J. Sincock; Sydenham B v North Canterbury (at _sy__*ni____j), Mr H.
