THE INJURED IN ST. VINCENT.
MORE NEW CRATERS IN MARTINIQUE.
(Received May 20th. 1.5 .a.m.) NEW YORK. May 19. The injured at St. Vincent number three thousand. Tho destitution is appalling. Fifteen violent detonations, accompanied by vivid lightning, were experienced at Martinique early on .Saturday. The eruptions are becoming worse, and new craters have appeared in the neighbourhood of Le Precheur. The 'Mayor of Trinife declares that the wall of flame that enveloped St. Pierre on the Bth was so sharply defined that a bi£l grazing on the edge of its track was roasted on one side, while not one hair was singed on the other. The residents of the northern part of the island, who took refuge in the southern part, are returning to their homes, notwithstanding the danger. Internal rumblings were heard at Fort de France on Saturday.
