A NARROW ESCAPE.
(press association telegram.) GISBORNE, April 7. The bursting, of a waterspout caused a sudden flood in the Wainiata river, the water coTiing down in a wall five feet high, and sweeping away a buggy and pair driven by a settler named Young. Young jumped clear and escaped, but the horses and trap have not been seen since.
