In G. W. , . Smdlth, ; of Auckland, this colony has a hurdler of exceptional merit, and he should be successful in both the 120 yds Hurdles and the 440 yds Hurdles. W. P. Simpson, of Canterbury, has proved himself a remarkably good long distance runner, and he may be expected to win the One Mite Booe, as well as the Three Miletf, though in the >-•» latter event- G. Blake, the holder of ta*. Victorian records from five to ten mnes, iejbound to run well. Judging by their recent form H. H. Hunter and O. H. Gardner, of Vdotoria, -will be hard to beat ' - in .the Long' Jump, bub in the High Jump C. S. Harper and O. O Laurie, *he New Zealand representatives, -will perform well. In -the spnnte G. Moir, of Victoria, looker dangerous, but L. B. Webster, of Taranaki, showed good form on Wednesday, In the middle distances Queensland hae 'fewo, good' performers in 0." Campbell and s>.
