Derry's Private Band was engaged for the New Zealand Wheel Race Meeting on Boxing Day and Saturday, December 28th. In connection with the same meeting it was resolved to strictly inflict a fine of 2s *6d upon all competitors who fail to advise the scratching stewards of their non-starts five minutes l>efore each race. The secretary was given power to engage five pacers for the test races on Boxing Day, in which thp representatives far New Zealand in the Australasian Championship will be ascertained.' The secretary reported! that over 200 entries had been received* for the Wheel Race Meeting, the entry for the big event being 40. . " The following* handicaps have been declared by Jfr G.
