— ** . '". Ah accident happened to the Belfast coach on, Saturday night -whilst it was going along Papaaaui road. It appears that ill avoiding the tram line the outer wheels skidded on the slope Cowards the gutter, and the ground being soft the coach toppled over on its side, but did not quite capsize., owing to the bank of the footpath preventing xt. The occupants of the coach, amongst them a number of ladies, were much shaken, but beyond receiving bruises no serious injuries were sustained. Another coach was despatched from town; when the mishap was known, and conveyed* the passengers to their destination. '. Oα. Saturday, whilst discharging Ibage of ' ahingle from a ballast train at Ashley to the .protective works at t&a north end of the bridge, one sack fell on R. Man■hke, who was severely bruiaed, and had to be conveyed to his house in Bangiora. (PBKSS ASSOCIATION TELEGaA&L) - WANGANUI, December 15. . A man named Charles Stanley Cony committed suicide on Saturday afternoon by cutting his throat with' a razor. The man ~ is supposed! to have no relations in th© colony. A fetter addressed to bis bxothfcr, a clergyman in Queensland, and written Wo days before the suicide, "was found on deceased", in which the intention of committing tie act. was stated. PALMERSTON NORTH, December 14. At Tekapu Block yesterday a lad named Weekes was thrown from a horse and dragged, sustaining concussion of the brain and other severe injuries. He was brought -to the Pahnerston Hospital yesterday afternoon by train, but succumbed -to his injuries to-day. PAHIATUA, December 17. A fourteen-year-old son- of Mr G. B. Clark, while riding a. bicycle, waa run over by a milk van, and died from his injuries.
