HOT WEATHER IN AUSTRALIA.

Numbers oi stations registered from 114 to 125 deg. in the shade.'. - • . (Received December lTfli, 10.14 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 17. A strong north-westerly, like a blast from ;& r furnace, blew; all day to-day. The heat was prostrating, and the thermometer registered 104. degrees in the shade. (Received December 18th, 12.22 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 17. A cool southerly wind is blowing in the city to-night. The heat wave was general, and at many country stations a temperature was recorded of 100 degrees to 115 degrees. At Paradine, Brewarrina, and , Tilba it was 117 degrees, and at Ooodooga 121 degrees. Serious damage has been done to the wheat, the teat causing it Bush fires are raging in some districte. •
