Thomas Castlehow, manager for Lockhead's, sold a go-cart to Joseph Morris for £6 upon- the hire purchase system. It was alleged yesterday, that while £2 6s was owing Morris had given a bill of sale over the go-cart, and the go-cart was subsequently seized', and sold under : this bill of sale. Morris was accordingly, charged with committing theft by fraudulously converting the go-cart to his own use by pledging the same.. Mr Dougall appeared for the informant, and Mr Stamper for the defendant. The defence was that Mor-» ris had allowed the go-cart to be included" in the bill of sale unwittingly and without appreciating the consequences of his act...
